Summer in Oregon just got more awesome thanks to Summer EBT!
Summer EBT’s mission is to help get healthy meals to kids throughout the summer break from school. Eligible school-aged children will each get $120 for groceries this summer, and the program will renew each year.
If your household has an EBT card (Oregon Trail Card), your funds will be added to that card this summer. Otherwise, you’ll get a new card in the mail after you’ve been determined eligible.

¡El verano en Oregon se ha vuelto más increíble gracias al EBT de Verano!
La misión del EBT de Verano es ayudar a que los niños reciban comidas saludables durante las vacaciones de verano. Los niños en edad escolar elegibles recibirán $120 para alimentos este verano, y el programa se renovará cada año.

11 am-12 pm Mon - Thurs anyone from ages 1-18 can come to the back door of the kitchen at SBE to get a free breakfast and lunch.

Students may bring money to give to their teacher to purchase PTO popcorn. Popcorn is 50 cents per bag. Popcorn will be delivered to the students before dismissal every Thursday through the end of the year. We must have the money at the beginning of the day.

Drill Notification
We conducted a lockdown drill in our school this morning. This was only a drill. For safety reasons, we did not provide prior notice of today’s drill. The goals of the lockdown drills are to improve our ability to protect students, save lives, and reduce injuries in the event of a crisis. When conducting these drills, we work closely with the local authorities to implement the best possible safety practices. This is the type of response we would engage should a situation arise that could jeopardize the physical safety of students and staff. Staff and students have been trained to wait for a police officer to release them in the event of a lockdown. This is the method we will use to release from the lockdown today. In preparing this communication, I realize that even the mention of the word “lockdown” introduces unwelcome thoughts and raises questions and concerns. I hope you will find the knowledge that we practice our response to crises to be reassuring. Please remind your child that concern regarding safety within our school should be immediately reported to me or another staff member. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Esta mañana llevamos a cabo un simulacro de encierro en nuestra escuela. Esto fue sólo un simulacro. Por razones de seguridad, no avisamos con antelación del simulacro de hoy. Los objetivos de los simulacros de encierro son mejorar nuestra capacidad para proteger a los estudiantes, salvar vidas y reducir las lesiones en caso de una crisis. Al realizar estos simulacros, trabajamos estrechamente con las autoridades locales para implementar las mejores prácticas de seguridad posibles. Este es el tipo de respuesta que adoptaríamos si surgiera una situación que pudiera poner en peligro la seguridad física de los estudiantes y el personal. El personal y los estudiantes han sido capacitados para esperar a que un oficial de policía los libere en caso de cierre. Este es el método que utilizaremos hoy para salir del encierro. Al preparar esta comunicación, me doy cuenta de que incluso la mención de la palabra “bloqueo” introduce pensamientos no deseados y plantea preguntas e inquietudes. Espero que les resulte tranquilizador saber que practicamos nuestra respuesta a las crisis. Por favor recuérdele a su hijo que cualquier preocupación con respecto a la seguridad dentro de nuestra escuela debe ser reportada inmediatamente a mí o a otro miembro del personal.
